Another way of Decorating

I oktobernumret av tidskriften The World of Interiors, hittar man bland annat ett hemma hos reportage hos pariskonstnären och poeten LP Promenheurs sommarhus på landsbygden utanför Chartres. Här har konstnären själv, på fri hand, dekorera väggarna med djur- och växtmotiv. Unikt, poetiskt och elegant i all sin enkelhet. Något för sommarstugan?

Relaxed Bohemian Chic

Finally! Over the years some friends have frowned at my un-hemmed table cloths, and have offered to fix it for me. Now I have picture proof - I'm the stylish one ;-)

Äntligen har min benägenhet att duka med ofållade dukar blivit accepterat. Glöm bara inte att zig-zaga linnedukens franskant innan tvätt, så förvandlas den inte till ett intrasslat "fågelbo" i tvättmaskinen....

Scandinavian Design + Indian Crafts = Fair Trade

Svenska Glowb har ett intressant koncept. Bakom företaget står formgivaren Viktoria Hamberger som erbjuder sina kunder att själva, eller tillsammans med henne, formge sin alldeles egna, unika matta, som sedan tillverkas för hand i Indien. Bilden nedan visar ett exempel ur Glowbs kollektion, som förenar modern svensk design med Indiskt hantverkstradition.



Företagets filosofi är att bidra till en bättre vardag för de anställda och deras familjer och barns skola i Indien. På så vis bidrar varje GLOWB-kund till något positivt när de köper en matta. Utöver detta är vi mycket måna om att våra leverantörer har en tydlig utarbetade uppförandekod. Att inget barnarbete förekommer, att de anställda får skäligt betalt och att inga giftiga kemikalier används (från Viktoria Hamberger webbsida)

På bilden Viktoria Hamberger själv, som för ett tag sedan flyttade in i, och renoverade, min kompis C's barndomshem på Lidingö. Känner jag C rätt, så bör hon och hennes syster vara mycket nöjda med husets nya "kläder", som presenterades i ett hemma-hos reportage i Residence för ett tag sedan. Bilden ovan är därifrån.
