Nature - with a silver lining

Tuesday. The day of the week when I dig my hands deep into clay.
Just experimenting at the moment. We'll see what comes out of it....
Nothing like British silversmith Alex Ramsey's stunning work, I am sure.
I find his items absolutely stunning!
Especially love the way he mixes materials - silver, glass, wood, sea shells etc.

What can I say? I am inspired.

På tapeten. Natural and vintage on your walls

Bringing nature indoors via a wallpaper may be just the thing. Here are some examples from the Swedish shop Your Wallpaper.
The first two are by designer Mrs Murphy

These beauties are by photographer Jonny von Wallström

Below: an old photograph turned wallpaper, by Alain Couillaud

And last, but not least: wallpaper design by talented Lisa Bengtsson. Not new, but still a favorite of mine.

Shopping Japanese style

Sometimes I wish I could read Japanese. Like today, while visiting the japanese webshop (with the french name) Orne de Feuilles. So many beautiful items. Beautifully photographed. Don't you just want to have it all?
First some examples of lamps and lanterns made of rope, iron or wood:

Beautiful storage. Old and new.

Below: a vase made of fabric!

And other elegant details for your home.

Pure, elegant WABI SABI arrangements

Sorry for the silence this week. I've been real busy preparing for a course on interior design, styling and homestaging, that I'm hosting this weekend. Nothing out of the ordinary, really, since I'm giving them several times a year. But this time I wanted to make some update, and for some reason, updates always tend to take longer than planned. Oh well... See you all next week. To tie you over - here are some beautiful images from from utsuwa-ku

Kolla då bilderna nedan.
Trendigare än så här hösten 2011 kan det knappast bli.
Vad väljer du?
Målad, uppspänd duk
eller betongmönstrad fototapet från Norge?

Wall treatments for trendsetters, fall 2011. What's your pick?

Inspiring Wabi Sabi Ceramics

Finally! Tonight I'll be back in the ceramic studio. I am not doing raku this time, but will try more traditional techniques. For inspiration, I had a look at some of Cheryl Wolff's ceramics. I just love the simple elegance of her work.

Love her bird feeders and bird houses:

Cheryl Wolff lives and work in Northern California, and you'll find more her work over at her Etsy shop here.

Wabi Sabi Still Life

Photographer Gemma Comas' client list is quite impressive. No wonder, when she takes these kind of stills. Beautiful, simple and very Wabi Sabi. Enjoy.

Bedroom browns and greys. Neutrala toner i sovrummet.

I came across this photograph in Gemma Comas' portfolio, and liked the simplicity and calmness of the room.

There is nothing dramatical or especially trendy about this bedroom. Just the basic necessities: a comfy bed, a table, a lamp. And that's what makes it so attractive in my eyes. Plus the natural coloring: the browns, the greys, the black.
Too boring for you? If you added a color - what would it be, then?

Läs hela artikeln i Sköna Hem här.

Ha en skön sensommarhelg. Själv skall jag stapla ved. Inte särskilt sexigt, men nödvändigt, om man vill ha välluftad och torr ved till vinterns myskvällar framför brasan.
