Concrete Bath

I love the simplicity in AgapeDesign's product photos. The concrete surfaces really bring out the beauty of the design. The space in the image above is like a temple. (Others may say it looks like a prison bath!) All photos via Agapedesign.

Agapedesign's list of designers is really impressive. Like in this case - it's Spanish born, award winning designer Patricia Urquiola, who designed these bathroom furnitures. New design with a wabi sabi feel, don't you think?

Pinhole Window View

I am absolutely mesmerized by Dutch designer  Monique Habraken's
graduation project Pinhole Window View, 2010
This is how she describe this work on her webpage:

Pinhole Window View expands the pinhole principle
to encompass an entire room and its contents,
with a tiny hole in the window forming the only light source.

Light-sensitive emulsion was painted
onto a piece of natural fibre textile at the back
as well as some furniture and then ‘developed’
in the same way as a regular photograph.

Captured in the emulsion are ghostly cityscapes
and stark silhouettes of tables and chairs in an interplay
between the interior and exterior surroundings.

Stunning!!

Bedroom and Bath in one

While getting my daily dose of Pinterest, I found a pin from Cez
of an interesting image of a Norwegian woman's new house in Italy.
After some much needed renovations,
this is what the combined bedroom and bath looks like now.

I love the clever storage/sink/miror wall dividing the rooms.
Simple and good looking! Mixing old and new materials. I like.

Great rugs for your floor. Mattor som rena konstverk!

Ahhh, this is one of those occations when I wish I was a rich girl! Don't you just love these rugs from Nanimarquina? Hand knotted of natural wool, silk and mohair. Beautifully photographed in Spain.

This awesome rug collection is called Chillida, decorated with a selection of Spanish artist Eduardo Chillida's work (1924-2002). All images from Nanimarquina

Fler bilder: Nanimarquina

Transparancy

As skies are grey and raindrops fall on my window,
I head over to mixed media artist Ann Symes online collection of images
Here are a few that fits my mood today.

Less wet where you are, I hope?

Plain Space

Don't you just love this serene space from Brit architect John Pawson's
book Plain Space (Phaidon) 2011? I do. I love the

... beautiful photograph,
the subtle shades,
the stunning light.

Just perfect.

Very white morning view

Gorgeous installation, called Room 211, by talented Canadian designer Lisa Keophilia. Imagin waking up in the morning and looking up at all those white flowers, slowly moving in the breeze from the open window.... mmmmmmm. Should I try something similar, or would it involve too much dusting?
