Quaint & Rustic in Italy

I am preparing for a ten day's art class in Umbria, Italy this fall. (More on that when we return). Here is another place - Albergo Diffuso in Sextantio S. Stefano, I've been contemplating for another art course in Italy. It's VERY rustic, and reading the visitors comments on TripAdvisor, many of the beautiful rooms have very small windows and are poorly lit, so they may very well be too dark to work in, should the weather be bad. What do you think? Would you stay in a quaint Italian village & hotel like this?

Inspiration: Wabi Sabi Style Restroom

Now - there are restrooms and there are restrooms! This one is in the Danish restaurant Höst, in Copenhagen. It sure looks like the wabi sabi style is getting trendier by the day!

DARK STYLING - Natural Beauties from Japan

REPOST from March 2013.
Award winning japanese designer Katsumi Machimura started off as a jewelry designer in the 1960s, and didn't dig his hands into clay until years later. His stunning ceramic work has both elegance and roughness - proper gems in themselves! Katsumi Machimura also love gardening, and share his passion for nature in his garden blog. I borrowed these pictures of his ceramic work and natural photos from Atelier Katsumi here.

Natural interiors with soul and warmth

I am a big fan of Swedish stylist and photographer Hans Blomquist's work. A couple of years ago he, and the talented photographer Debi Treloar, published the book The Natural Home. Now there is another book out. This one is called In Detail, and I hope to find it in my mailbox pretty soon. Until then, lets enjoy these beautiful photographs from The Natural Home, so full of harmony, warmth and soul.
